Capita TDS is delighted to announce that it has been appointed to the National Archives framework agreement contract for the provision of scanning and transcription services. This award, announced on the 16th March 2009, follows a competitive tender process.
The framework which will run for four years is broken down into lots. Capita TDS has been appointed to the framework agreement under LOT 1: Digital image and metadata creation (at supplier’s premises) from microfilm and originals, LOT 2: Digital image and metadata creation (at the National Archives premises) from microfilm and rare and valuable materials. Capita Transcription Services has been appointed to LOT 3: Manual creation of electronic text from digital images.
Rob Eaton, Capita TDS’ sales manager commented, “We are delighted to have been appointed to this framework agreement, against stiff competition and an in-depth procurement exercise. We hope the framework is widely used by the National Archives for outsourcing of scanning and transcription services. This is the second time that Capita TDS has been appointed to the National Archives framework agreement and look forward to fulfilling an efficient and cost effective service over the coming years.”
